At the 2015 Reunion, we were excited to announce a new opportunity for all who served aboard the USS Duluth (now also available to everyone). At the site of the anchor monument in Duluth, MN, a brick patio has been installed (see group photo above). Shipmates who served aboard the USS Duluth, as well as anyone else, are able to purchase bricks engraved/etched with their name and information, which will become a permanent part of the USS Duluth Anchor Monument.

These bricks, similar to those shown in the photos provided, will be available on a “first come, first served” basis and come with a 100 year warranty. Unless we are granted an expansion by the City, we only have 276 bricks that are available to be engraved. The black coloration at the bottom of the etched characters is the result of the laser etching process, which creates a burned black glass type of surface, much more permanent than any paint. The photos shown below are from a similar engraved brick project and are provided for reference only, to illustrate what ours will look like.

After entering your name and shipping info and selecting the 4” x 8” brick from the drop down menu, click on the “Continue” button. On the next screen you will be able to type in the information that you wish to have engraved on your brick, which will appear on the image of the brick, so that you can see what your brick will look like when engraved. All bricks will be engraved with all capital letters. You can have up to 20 characters per line, including spaces & punctuation and a total of 3 lines.
